As General Manager for Larsen Marine Service and Bay Marine Chicago (Topside Marina properties located in Waukegan Illinois), I am responsible for the day to day operations of both facilities. Eco Endeavors utilizes several different vessels from small coastal skiffs to large cruising sailing catamarans, offering day and multi-day educational voyages through the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge, Everglades National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve and the Dry Tortugas National Park. Under my direction, our mission was to promote environmental education and awareness through exploration of Earth's natural areas that are not easily accessible to the public. We worked with several private and public educational organizations in addition to offering public and private day and extended length charters. As founder, visionary, owner, and managing director over the past 10 years, I was responsible for aspectspivotal to the development, growth, recent transition of leadership, and continued success of thebusiness:• Train, schedule and supervise a staff of 20 people, including guides, drivers, office personnel,and maritime captains.• Administer safety training to all staff.• Perform annual proficiency evaluation with all crew.• Engage with state and local government officials regarding zoning, permitting, and futureplanning pertaining to the charter industry of southwest Florida.• Complete regular maintenance of the vessels including cleaning, oil changes, fuel systems,electronics, bilge systems, and fiberglass repair.• Ensure property, vessels and supporting equipment were properly documented, registeredand remained in full compliance with local, state, and federal agencies including the FCC andUnited States Coast Guard per the Certificate of Inspection, CFR sub chapter-T forcommercially operated passenger vessels.• Produce quarterly and annual financial statements for investors.• Develop and collaborate with marketing team to design website and social media content.• Promote individual and group sales through multimedia presentations.• Seek innovative ways to generate sales and further develop brand recognition.
