H&M is a plan, design, and build engineering firm that specializes in building heavy industrial and manufacturing plants. During my time with them I have mostly worked in their process engineering department, which is where I am now. My position primarily involves editing plans and mark-ups using the AutoCAD program Revit. I also prepare construction sheets for print and delivery and I model vendor equipment into the computer to be placed in the BIM environment and master model.I also worked for a time in the mechanical engineering department. During that period, I ran heating and cooling load calculations for office spaces using the program TRACE and I also verified thermal expansion calculations for an array of expansion joints to be used in connection with a large thermal reactor.

In 2008 I started my own 501-(c)3 non-profit organization at 16 years old. The objective of the organization was simple: challenge as many other teens to donate one dollar to building wells in Sudan as possible. By the end of three "campaigns" we had raised over $45,000, ultimately funding the installation of four borehole wells in Sudan and two hundred water filter systems through the organization Baptist Global Response.This position involved filing with the IRS for official non-profit status, designing a professional website, filming a promotional video, and conducting online promotion. I also handled as filing, banking, and correspondence for the organization. My personal story is featured in the book "Start Here," written by Alex and Brett Harris and in 2010 (when I was 17) I travelled to Darfur, Sudan to observe the circumstances first hand.
