At Rochester Makerspace, I teach Introduction to Stained Glass, where students learn the fundamentals of creating a stained glass window of any size using the tools and equipment available at Makerspace. This class covers design, cutting glass, using a glass grinder, applying copper foil, soldering, various finishing methods, as well as proper safety and clean-up practices. Other responsibilities at Makerspace include maintaining equipment and supplies, and general upkeep and organization of the department.

At the Rochester Arc + Flame Center, I instruct students on the art and craft of glassblowing using traditional hand tools. Using a lot of patience, heat, and gravity, we form molten glass into various solid and hollow forms. Current class offerings can be found at www.rocafc.com.

Since 2015, I have assisted in various hotshop classes at the Corning Museum of Glass, where we instruct students on the basics of blowing and manipulating hot glass during one-day and two-day workshops. My work combines hand-blown glass and individually-machined metal parts into clockwork mechanisms depicting the movement of stars, planets, and other celestial objects. These projects intertwine art and mechanics; mixing the fluidity of glass with the precision of engineered metal.
