We’re at the beginning...the beginning of a project, collaboration, or maybe a more long-term endeavor. Either way, the beginning is the most important part. From here anything is possible.To help us get to know one another, here are a few takeaways about me. First, I’m an energetic Gemini who obsesses over good communication strategy, and I mean the kind of “good” that moves the needle and helps audiences take action. If I can do that in a way you’ve never seen before, even better. I’ve worked with organizations big and small, and I’ve been a professor teaching communication strategy enough to know everything that’s old becomes new again, with a twist. Having amped-up my communication skill set with a return to academia, I received a master’s degree in communication from Virginia Commonwealth University. Graduate school was a way for me to combine communication theory, research and practice in a meaningful way. Most importantly, I know how to perform brand research and implement the findings. As a professional communicator, I’m the right amount of creative and strategic, and balance the two well (see Gemini comment above). I perform best when caffeinated, and the center of my universe is in the middle of a brainstorm where good ideas are born. As a scale-breaking ENFP I’m wired for leadership roles, and I always seem to find those opportunities. I’m a team player, success sharer and enjoy being a mentor. I’m very much against communication silos. I’m any early adopter by heart, and I love experimenting with new tools that encourage action. In fact, I’ve helped business learn to embrace new communication tools that lead to better engagement. Otherwise, I’m a self-diagnosed news junkie who likes playing the guitar, listening to The Beatles and improving communication strategy. I’m also a sucker for compelling stories, and I can evaluate anything with a little time and a whiteboard. I’m always looking for a chance to prove that.
