Program elements included defense acquisition projects, medical devices, information technology, training and certification, operational planning and crisis response, product life-cycle management, strategy and modernization, business analysis, and risk management comprised of 11 internal departments with 20 managers, five external program management offices and three major external stakeholders. Total value exceeded $100 million.
In addition to managing the program:
Served as the US Project Manager for a multinational Department of Defense project partnership. Achieved budget and cost savings over $7MM by optimizing seven unique tasks utilizing existing overhead and schedule slack advancing multiple research and development projects by more than 12 months. Internationally recognized for exceptional leadership and commitment.
Served as acquisition project manager for an information technology cloud-based portal. Delivered initial capability in 24 months, a full 36 months ahead of benchmark programs, by transitioning from waterfall development to Agile project management. I communicated with the development team through sprint planning and sprint reviews, prioritized customer stories and features for the development team, documented changing customer needs through user feedback sessions, marketed capability to external stakeholders who would adopt follow-on iterations to meet their organizations needs, and encouraged the adoption of an agile project management mindset across the entire program office. Lessons learned were documented and incorporated into three additional information technology projects.
