Rosetta, developed in Dr. David Baker's lab at the University of Washington is state of the art software for determining the 3-dimensional structure of proteins, as well as predicting protein-protein interactions, ligand-protein binding and enzyme design. Rosetta is a computationally intensive process and we have utilized the vast computing power of Amazon EC2 to develop a pay-as-you-go version of Rosetta for EC2. This lowers a significant barrier to entry for small and mid-size life science companies by eliminating the capital investment required for a computational cluster. We also provide expert knowledge on Rosetta to enable you to maximize its utility for your projects.

We are developing automated assay methods for measuring cholesterol efflux which is a standard method for HDL research. By implementing robotics and automation, we hope to improve throughput and accuracy and potentially develop a diagnostic test for cardiovascular disease risk.We are also working on developing improved tools for using protein cross-linking and mass spectrometry as distance constraints for the Rosetta software suite, developed by Dr. David Baker's laboratory here at the University of Washington. Experimentally determined distance constraints dramatically reduces the search space Rosetta must examine and provide for more accurate 3-dimensional protein structure predictions.

As a postdoctoral fellow, I was focused on technology development primarily in the proteomics field. I have worked with multiple Mass spectrometer types including: triple-quadrupole, Time-of-flight, and Ion-trap instruments from Applied Biosystems, Agilent, and Thermo Finnegan. We developed numerous techniques related to quantitation in SRM experiments, including AQUA, Qconcat, and other methods.

I gained experience in evaluating the scientific and business merits of commercial proposals presented to Accelerator. I also had the opportunity to be involved in the process of bringing a biotechnology company to fruition.
