I am currently seeking new full-time and part-time opportunities as a writer, ideally content, copy, or narrative in the game industry. I am seeking to transition the skills I have acquired through my years in healthcare, academia, publishing work to pursue an exciting new career transition. I am currently working as a Lead Developer on a fundraising card game for non-profits by helping the creator with new rules, modes of play, design, branding, accessibility and production. It is my first card game. Past experience has included writing found narrative pieces for the video game Skyhill 2: Black Mist from Mandragora Studios. Games aside, my most recent role was as an E-Commerce Advisor for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce where I reviewed applications for the Grow Your Own Business Online Grant as well as helped review applications to the Boost Your Business Grant. Before that I worked in a variety of roles including consulting, policy writing, and research, in the healthcare and nonprofit industry, disseminating knowledge through visual maps, tip sheets, presentations, and other written materials. The arts, literature and mental health are important parts of my journey as a professional. As such I have been fortunate to have a diverse educational experience. I have earned a Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Social Work, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Publishing from Centennial College and a Hons. B.A. in Arts Management from the University of Toronto. In my volunteer work I currently help the Toronto Film Society at their Sunday Matinees at the Paradise Theatre, greeting patrons and selling merchandise. In the past I have served as Chair and two elected terms as a director on the Board of Directors of U of T’s Varsity Newspaper. I occasionally serve as a guest speaker or panelist on topics of mental health and leadership. Past clients include the Jays Care Foundation, the Town of Newmarket, and the International Mental Health Film Festival.
