I'm a lawyer, entrepreneur, coach, and psychedelic researcher. I believe that peer counseling and coaching have critical roles to play in the continuum of care for psychedelic experiences. I'm the Founder, Executive Director, and Board Chair of Fireside Project, a nonprofit that operates: 1) a psychedelic coaching telehealth platform, and 2) a free support line for people during and after psychedelic experiences. Our work has been featured in Wired, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Forbes, Mashable, and other major media outlets.Before founding Fireside Project, I spent 18 years as a practicing lawyer, mostly as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, where I focused on suing businesses exploiting vulnerable communities, serving as general counsel to City departments, representing the City in federal and state court, and working as a clinical instructor for Yale Law School's San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Program. I also volunteered as a counselor on Safe & Sound’s TALK Line and a psychedelic peer supporter for the Zendo Project.
