I worked for one of bp's Incubators, known internally as Omni-Sci Labs (or Lab42) on several early-stage experiments. These included: a no code, AI-powered tool generation platform; a battery rental service for communities experiencing load shedding in developing nations; and an enterprise scale procurement platform for reducing reliance on supply chain finance.MaikeActed as Founder and Product Manager for Maike, an AI powered no code tool generation platform for subject-matter experts across bp who lacked access to dedicated software development resources. It was an incredibly satisfying experience to see the look on first time users faces when they generated their first tool and it met their initial need with a "zero-shot" attempt.- Doubled community size within three months- Generated tools reduced user effort by 98% for an 88% reduction in equivalent software spendAgentiveI was responsible for the analytics, contractor services and track and trace components of the Agentive enterprise procurement platform.- Contractor services reduced wastage and leakage by 10% in the regions it was deployed to by using exchanging active paper based process for passive automation.

Led the product development of blinkbox’s video on-demand apps for a range of Microsoft platforms, including the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Windows Surface and Windows Phone as well as the PlayStation 3.

I was approached and asked if I would take on an additional 6 month role as the Executive Assistant to the CEO in 2014 as a result of my past performance and knowledge. The purpose of the role was to mentor the new CEO, who had previously come from a marketing background in the technical and product aspects of the Company. As well as managing agendas and taking minutes at board meetings, I provided technical advice, acted as a sounding board for new ideas and a barometer for the general mood in the company. I also ran one off projects and was often asked to comment on existing company strategies.Achievements• By mentoring the CEO I was able to raise his awareness of a number of blockers within the engineering and product teams – many of these issues have either been resolved or are being resolved as a result• I developed the first version of the company score card, a counterpoint to the company’s trade report, which is now widely used to better understand customer sentiment and behaviour• I gained the confidence and licence to try new things outside the operational norm, such as creating a team that could slice vertically through our entire development stack, which has allowed us to work more efficiently and deliver changes that have improved our apps’ overall performance

I spent two years rotating through three roles across the business, including placements on Centrica’s North Sea gas rigs and South Humber power stations as a graduate electrical engineer and a year as a Low Carbon Technology Analyst, working for the newly established British Gas New Energy.Achievements• I assisted in the design of a solution to overhaul all of the 415V circuit breakers across Centrica’s Morecambe Bay gas refinery, which resulted in a significant reduction to the risk of death by arc flash• I created an Excel based analytics tool to model market trends, which informed my team’s choices for potential green/clean tech investment• I further helped to refine the team’s long list of potential green/clean tech investment opportunities with Dragon’s Den style interviews, resulting in the creation of a shortlist of high return opportunities• I then spearheaded the technical due diligence for Ceres Power, one of the shortlist candidates, leading to an investment of £25m and a place for BGNE on Ceres’ board of directors
