I am an electrical engineer with over 20 years of experience working with electrical utilities and in the renewable energy space and am a Sr. Member of the IEEE.I have modeled and studied numerous transmission lines, wind farms, solar farms and other technologies for distributed generation. I have completed many interconnection protection studies as a client facing engineer. I have also created and led teams in complete substation and PV SCADA development and design. Due to this experience I was the lead P&C engineer in the development of a major utility’s distributed generation policy. I have experience with a variety of protective relaying schemes from 12.47 kV to 500 kV. I have created P&C designs for these same voltages and various bus configurations, i.e. main & aux, breaker-and-a-half.I was a team member of a major RAS scheme development and presented at a WECC committee meeting. This work led me into being a member of a discussion panel on soft PLC's at the Power & Energy Automation Conference (PEAC).In addition to WECC, I have worked with entities such as NERC, Edison Electrical Institute (EEI), CAISO, and ERCOT. I worked on NERC CIP 002 Critical Cyber Assets identification for PacifiCorp. I was the PacifiCorp representative for the Aurora Attack discussion with EEI. I have worked on teams interconnecting to CAISO, ERCOT and TVA.
