About Joshua Swalwell

I've dedicated over a decade of my life to empowering others to take control of their health and find their strength in gyms and health clubs. Growing up, I was always on the move, playing competitive sports until college, but life had its own plans. Injuries and unresolved wounds from my past led me down a different path—one that ended with me homeless and addicted on the streets of San Francisco.My turning point came in 2013 after a 30-day stint in jail, where I was saved by the law finally keeping me in jail long enough to kick the habit(this was in San Francisco where they don't keep people in jail) After that, I chose rehab. And when I left rehab, I took my first step into a life I hadn’t known could be mine, selling gym memberships and pouring my energy into helping others find their health and confidence.For seven years, I was part of the leadership team at Forma Gym, hands down the best gym in the country, where I built lifelong friendships and learned to channel my passion into sales and marketing. This industry not only became my career; it became the foundation of my recovery and my life.In 2019, I shifted gears to join the tech side of fitness. My focus moved from coaching young sales reps to teaching gym owners how to harness data to elevate their businesses. I joined Fitness BI, which was eventually acquired by ABC Fitness Solutions in 2021, where I was honored with "Club Excellence" for exceeding my annual quota. In 2023, I branched out to start an independent marketing agency, which I still run today. While I enjoy the autonomy, I miss the dynamic energy of a team.In September 2024, I joined Promotion Vault. I had met Brian Mitchell at a Rex Roundtable event in Miami, and after working together as a client, I saw firsthand his commitment to making a real impact on member and employee engagement. And if you've met Brian, you know he's such a great human being with a very kind soul and heart(and he's brilliant). I knew I wanted to be part of his team and this mission.Beyond my career, I’m also a music producer, DJ, photographer/videographer and board member of a recovery-focused charity that provides legal, housing, and job training support to those navigating the world of sobriety.My commitment is simple: to be an extraordinary partner, friend, leader, and family member. Every day, I work to grow both personally and professionally, ensuring I stay ahead of the curve and serve as an authority in the fitness industry.
