As a digital marketing and social media intern, I was instrumental in the development of Max Effect's full service marketing division. My cutting-edge knowledge of the marketing world, coupled with the collaborative power of an amazing team, allowed us to take clients with broken websites and poorly-performing digital marketing, and give them the Max Effect. For one client, in particular, whose web presence previously generated a single lead every other week or so, after 6 weeks with Max Effect, began generating dozens of leads per week and thousands of dollars in increased monthly revenue.

Marketing Campaign ProductionDuring my years as Technology director for Red Rocks Ministries, I began to dip my toes in the creative depths of digital marketing. I had opportunity to do this through a variety of venues, including the newly developed Red Rocks Soccer League, for which I created a logo, website, flyer, postcards, staff badges, player jerseys, and staff shirts. For Silver State School I developed a marketing campaign for each of the dramatic productions, which involved posters, ticket design, memorabilia, and printed programs.Event Planning and Promotional Material DesignI was heavily involved in the planning of several major events. For these events I was responsible for designing and creating promotional material. For several years I developed conference brochures and signage for RMCEC, a regional educator’s conference. I was also instrumental in the successful planning and implementation of Silver State School’s 50th anniversary celebration, which included the creation and maintenance of a promotional event website and Facebook presence.Content Creation & SEOConnected to rrm.org, I established a blog. Over the course of the next three years I generated and edited content for the blog, while effectively utilizing SEO best practices like targeted keywords, mobile-friendly design, and social shareability. I was also responsible for assisting in the content creation and maintenance of the organization’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.Website Design - Conception to Completion Due to budgetary concerns, it fell to me to both design and build the RRM website. I chose WordPress for the CMS, primarily because of its simplicity for non-technical individuals to manage. To save time and expense, I chose a WordPress theme and modified it, as needed. Once the website was complete I trained the relevant staff in how to manage their online responsibilities. When visitors are asked how they learned about RRM, the most common answer is now, “rrm.org!”

A multi-faceted services company, my wife and I created VanMeter Services as an umbrella for several small, but successful businesses. During these years I learned the art of customer service, grew in flexibility and adaptability, and discovered the imperative of attention to fine detail. I personally managed logistics and deliveries for clients, supported client acquisition, and maintained customer satisfaction and client services.
