I am an Astronomer working with astronomical image data and machine learning. I have a strong background in CNNs and Python. My PhD work was to identify strong gravitational lenses from simulated data. I created a CNN in PyTorch to perform this task and I applied this CNN to data outside of the training data. I investigated the features that the CNN was using to identify gravitational lenses. I have a background in physics, computer science, animation and space explorations systems, which focused on collecting in-situ resources from the lunar surface.

  This is a pre-phase A study, which takes place over six months in three separate countries. The aim of this study was to develop a mission to produce propellant In-Situ on the lunar surface. The mission to create a LUnar Propellant Outpost (LUPO) consisted of a team of 39 international students working together in an industry environment.Whilst in Turin, Italy, I worked on the science aspect of the mission to investigate possible landing sites that could be profitable. In addition to this I looked into the various methods to extract the propellant from the lunar regolith.Whilst in Toulouse, France, I developed the design of the crewed rover for the mission (BLAIDD) creating the overall design and developing the robotic arms that attached to the rover. These robotic arms could travel around the rover via a rail, in case of an emergency I developed several possible options in which these arms could be detached from the rover quickly and effectively.In Leicester, UK, I was responsible for the additive manufacturing mechanisms need to construct buildings from the lunar environment. This required an understanding of 3D printing various materials and how these operations would behave with a lack of gravity. Whilst comparing the possible materials which would be suitable for this mission.
