During undergraduate studies and after graduating from the University of the Philippines College of Architecture in 2009, Ar. Cunanan has continuously worked to gain experience in the field of Architecture through employment and by joining different international collaborative design competitions for residential and institution infrastructures from which he was able to gain recognitions and awards. Among these are his design entry to the 2007 ABC Mall Redesign Competition where he won 1st prize, 2008 Millenium School Design Competition titled “Dancing with Disaster” won 2nd prize in the professional category, and the 2011 Futurarc Prize titled UrbandSOT that won 2nd prize in the professional category.His professional practice in different architectural firms has also expanded his knowledge in the field. He handled high end residential and interior design projects in the architectural firm of Juan Carlo Calma in 2012. In 2013, after passing the Architectural Board Examination he joined the one renowned architectural design firm in the country, Leandro V. Locsin Partners. Together with other LVLP architects and engineers, Ar. Cunanan is currently spearheading the Botanika Nature Residence project, a 16-storey high end condominium owned by Filinvest Alabang Corporation.Ar. Cunanan has gained extensive experience in all phases of Architectural practice which includes Schematic Design Conceptualization, Design Development, Construction Documentation and Project Administration dealing with close coordination with the client and other design consultants.
