I am an accounting and business analytics student, graduating in May 2024. I am on the Dean's List and a recipient of the UNT Excellence North Texas Scholarship. My goal after graduation is to acquire a CPA certification after I complete my graduate studies. I will become CPA-eligible in May 2024. I would be interested in working on the audit side of a company and employing analytical methods within my job. I prefer to work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; however, I don't mind moving outside of the city or the state if any opportunities are presented to me. When I took my first accounting class in high school, I grew interested in learning how to balance a trial balance, record journal entries, and apply problem-solving skills, which led me to pursue a career in business. Using data analytics methods within my accounting profession, plus my strong work ethic would make me a valuable resource for companies and clients. Although I enjoy working with numbers and financial statements, I also enjoy working with people and managing teams. For example, as a music director, I lead a team of six or more musicians and singers on Sunday mornings. I schedule rehearsals and coordinate with musicians and singers to ensure rehearsals and live productions run smoothly. I not only communicate specific instructions to each person, but I also welcome feedback from the team to enhance our musical performances.
