Areas of responsibility included:-Running Point: essentially a night supervisor role where I would facilitate all of the evening classes and deal with any crises that came up over the course of an evening.-Helping with training week and doing my part to ensure all of the other naturalists were in a position to succeed.-Recruiting new staff via recruiting trips, partnerships with universities, social media, etc...-Conducting periodic inspections on our challenge courses -Running our Social Media-And filling any gaps and leadership vacuums as they situationally came up.

The LAST Crew is a leadership development program for college students. Crew members help run our camp activities and programs throughout the summer while also being developed as a leader. LAST stands for Leadership, Adventure, Servanthood, Training. As LAST Crew Director I was in charge of:-Leading the LAST Crew program in both the macro and the micro-Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring my two assistant directors, and twelve Crew members for the summer-Planning the schedule for the summer-Training my staff on all activities they lead throughout the summer ranging from archery to zip-lines-Cowriting and leading a series of 10+ biblical leadership workshops though-out the summer-Developing a mentorship program-Researching and building various adventures for the Crew ranging from white water rafting to backpacking-Creating an environment of community for my staff members through recreational and work opportunities-Coaching and evaluating my staff-members throughout the summer-Serving in whatever capacity was necessary to ensure the success of our summer program

As a copy writer and content producer, I have a hand in all the written content going through Avelead’s marketing department. San Francisco Bay Area

As an Outdoor Educator my work with kids (usually 5th-6th graders focused on three different types of activities. 1.) I would teach classes such as Herpetology or Forest Ecology. These were active classes using the Redwood forest as an outdoor classroom. We tried to use the Socratic method as much as possible - to engage our students and help them to discover the answer rather than just lecture to them. Other classes included Geology and Stream, Healthy Forests, Amazing Ecosystems, and Pond and Stream.2.) Challenge Courses. As part of our curriculum, we offered challenge courses too. Designed to get the Students out of their comfort zone, I used our many different challenge courses to talk about difficulty and how to plan for challenges. The Courses ranged from giant swings to rock walls, to zip-lines.3.) I also was trained to facilitate a variety of "camp-experiences" such as camp-fires, night-hikes, field-trips to the ocean, or trivia-nights. These were some of my favorite activities as they encouraged the kids to feel wonder, be goofy, or ask questions that they might have been afraid to in a traditional classroom.

This program was run through the YMCA at Carpenter Elementary in NW Cary. My position included managing nine staff-members and fifty students. I was responsible for planning and leading day to day activities, training and evaluating my staff, communicating with the YMCA, parents, and teachers, and doing anything necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of my counselors and campers.https://www.ymcatriangle.org/schools/carpenter-elementary-after-school

As a Tribal Director I was in charge of the day to day runnings for the one of the six 'tribes' at Camp Rockmont. This meant leading around fifteen counselors and overseeing the well-being of around sixty campers. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to; training and mentoring the counselors, planning activities, ensuring the safety of my campers giving a talk each morning, leading a 'Tribal Campout,' and doing anything necessary to maintain and promote the success of the Birch Tribe.

I had the opportunity to lead with Cru for almost two years in various capacities. I served with the FIA (Faith in Action) team for a year, focusing mainly on developing men's community within the ministry. I then transitioned into leading the Sophomore guys community group. I also planned and led various events from evangelism training, to campouts in the mountains.
