Josiah thought it was odd, uncool and unprofessional that our sport had no specific gloves made for such a technical sport that demanded nothing but the best in equipment, so he set out to develop and test a glove that would address the specific demands of top track cyclists in the world. After 2 years of testing and development, in 2007 5bling was born. Within a short time frame, 5bling became the no.1 glove of choice for an overwhelming number of the world’s top riders. Today, 5bling has expanded to cover the needs of more cyclists with new models of short finger gloves for endurance cyclists. Even BMX riders are switching to our gloves, seeing the benefits a technical product with superior aerodynamics, fit, grip enhancement, feeling of handlbars, protection, and style!My role in 5bling is to manage the direction of the company in its offerings, concept, sales and logistics.

Professional Track CyclistMalaysia National Sports Council Jan 2000 - Feb 2015Melbourne, AustraliaI represented Malaysia at professional level in track cycling (retired February 2015). My events are predominantly keirin, individual sprint and the team sprint. I was the first track cyclist to represent Malaysia at the Athens Olympics 2004 securing a position in the keirin final getting within 2cm of a Bronze Medal. This earned me the Malaysian Sportsman of the Year 2004 award. I am a nine-time UCI Track World Cup medalist. I have also won several Asian Games and Asian Championship medals. It was an honor for me to be invited by the Japan Keirin Association (JKA) for the Kokusai Keirin (Invitational Keirin) in 2005,2006,2009, and 2010 multiple month stint for professional keirin racing. In 2010, I won a gold medal in the keirin at the New Delhi Commonwealth Games. I am a three-time Olympian (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012).Apart from securing medals for Malaysia, I also assist to develop high performance programme for the Malaysian track cycling team currently based in Melbourne, Australia. My role also involved mentoring and supporting the cycling community at large.

FounderSpecta Technologies Feb 2012 - Jan 2013Melbourne, AustraliaSpecta Technologies' objective is to bring to market the world’s first dual video sports camera with WiFi capabilities for the sports enthusiast wanting a lightweight, streamlined, functional and cool looking camera to document their adventures. I launched this project / concept on Kickstarter, garnered $54,168 out of $200,000 funding goal with 180 backers and multiple news articles on CNet, Wired, Trend Hunter and more. Two months later we decided not to proceed with this project but have obtained great learnings for what it takes to build a startup, and thus Spectacam became Spectablend (the high powered blender) later on.
