Hello there. I'm Josiah Vo.I am a senior at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and Technology (CIS Tech). Some skills include knowledge of the C++ programming language, various Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, Fedora, and Arch, and network tools such as Microsoft's Security tools, Splunk, and Wireshark. In an increasingly digitized world, I learned about the importance of the security of personally identifying information. I worked at the University of Texas at Dallas's Office of Information Technology to gain firsthand experience of industry tools. Using that experience, I received an internship under Texas Instruments as a Cyber Operations Analyst and enhanced business activities by streamlining playbooks and ensuring the safety of test environments.Academic excellence is a trait I take pride in and continue to improve. I graduated from Plano East Senior High with an International Baccalaureate diploma and several Advanced Placement Credits. My job as an instructor at Mathnasium allows me to influence other students' educations as well, helping students from Kindergarten Math to Algebra 1 traverse through obstacles in mathematics. I also have participated in several volunteer opportunities, including Vietnamese Seasonal Festivals, Data Entry for the Arolsen Archives, and environmental events such as the Keep Murphy Beautiful Recycling Events. My role in my church includes community outreach and being a lead performer for my worship team doing these events help me bring people together and enrich my personal experiences. In my free time, I play soccer, basketball, and chess. I also advocate for implementing and developing free and open source software and enacting privacy-respecting laws in the United States. I take part in the Cybersecurity Club and Chess Club of UTD.
