I have worked as an English Teacher and a Portuguese, English and Spanish translator since 2001. As a translator, I have experience in different areas and have rendered services to important institutions such as the United Nations, banks, magazines, translation companies, universities, law firms, embassies, ministries and other governmental agencies, in addition to big business companies. As an English teacher with a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), I have experience teaching basic, intermediate and advanced levels and preparing students for proficiency exams like Cambridge and TOEFL. I have worked in renowned institutions such as Casa Thomas Jefferson, in Brasilia - Brazil, and Kent State University, in Ohio - USA. I have also worked as a private English teacher, helping students in several different fields (senators, judges, dentists, civil servants, psychologists, auditors, economists, bank managers, CEOs, etc) learn and improve their English. I am currently interested in helping language learners and businesspeople raise their cultural awareness, since culture might interfere with successful communication.
