As a current Commercial Music student, I've become involved in many organizations that contribute to my entertainment industry experience. For starters, I work with an organization called The Music Industry Connection, better known as TMIC. This is a club at Florida State University founded two years ago that makes live music more accessible to students in Tallahassee. Past events have included jazz nights, themed house shows, open mics, and concerts at local venues. My role in this organization is photographing events, musical acts, and capturing the ambiance of the community TMIC creates. I also assist in computing event costs and working with my team to sort out logistics and make our events possible. I also hold a paid position in the College of Music at Florida State University. I am a marketing associate which means I assist in photographing concerts and recitals on campus, guest artists, and College of Music events, while also working through social media and marketing campaigns to promote the College of Music.Another organization I'm involved in is STITCH, which is a fashion club at FSU. Our events and club meetings include (but are not limited to), sewing workshops, conceptualized photo shoots, themed events, and an annual runway show featuring works by FSU students. Officially, my role in this club is "photographer," but I also assist in general board operations and work with the rest of our creative team to bring photoshoot concepts to life.One of the most rewarding things I've involved myself with is FSU's Songwriting Club, of which I am the outreach director. We lead club meetings that help aspiring songwriters with their writing and musicality. We also partner with FSU's Audio Production Club so our songwriters can bring their projects to life!
