  • Aurecon
    Principal
    Aurecon Nov 1995 - Jun 2016
I started my career as a Land Surveyor, working in the fields of residential (largely inner-city) development and infrastructure. Career highlights include being involved in the conversion of former commercial buildings in the Wellington CBD to 1,000+ unit titled apartments, creating a thriving inner city and making better use of many under-utilised buildings. I was also lucky to get the opportunity to work on a border survey between Ethiopia and Eritrea - taking surveying boundaries to a new (international.) level, and experiencing living in sub-tropical Africa. Over the years I have managed and lead many teams across our Wellington, Tauranga, Paraparaumu, Nelson and Blenheim offices, responsible for the performance and development of people, and the projects we delivered for our clients. In 2011 I became the Planning Leader for Auckland and Wellington, where I was tasked with creating a planning team that would service Aurecon's wider infrastructure clients. The planning team quadrupled in size over this period. In recent years I have been working in business development and client relationship leadership, a role I am passionate about where I could build a better understanding of our client’s business, their customers and clients, and help to achieve their outcomes through our project delivery.I've been an owner in Aurecon since 2004 where the key focus in my career became ensuring a sustainable business for future generations.
