As pool manager at Camden Country Club, my role involved liaising with club officials (i.e. board members, head of the club) as well as my fellow company staff. With this position came scheduling shifts for the lifeguards at the pool, keeping the chemicals in check on a daily basis, and traveling to Columbia, South Carolina on a weekly basis to grab supplies for restock. I also performed the duties of a regular lifeguard, surveilling the guests around the clock and practicing accident prevention as well as lifesaving. This job requires American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/AED certification.

During the summers, I worked as a lifeguard at the Camden Country Club pool. As a lifeguard, the primary duty I performed was accident prevention, accompanied by lifesaving if necessary. On the clock, it was my role to assist with keeping the pool in order (cleaning the deck, straightening the chairs, tidying the bathrooms) as well as keeping the chemicals in balance.

This internship was under the direction of the Innovation Officer, Kevin Limehouse, of the Deputy Administrator Public Services Office (DAPS) of Charleston County. With this position, I worked with innovation projects and CORE SC, performing grant research in association with the initiative to construct a NASA Satellite Launch Facility in Charleston, South Carolina.

With the role of snack bar attendant, I served snacks to the guests of the Camden Country Club pool. This position required efficient restocking of the goods, as well as simple cooking skills and the ability to manage currency. This position was worked for two summers.
