Smartenergy ltd. is a company owned by King-ICT, specialized for design, installation and project management in field of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering.I have joined the team basically in a company startup phase, so the first goal was to set up and delegate work and responsibilities, set up procedures, ERP and administrative processes.The company is project oriented and my role in projects was usually tied to vendor or supplier side, including:- Research, evaluation and selection of supplier- Commercial terms negotiations, value analysis, price negotiation, contracting, making the purchase- Supply contract administrationDepartment, that I was in charge of, was also responsible for:- Finalizing and sending quotations to potential Investors- Preparing documentation and offers for public tenders- Material management- Financial management- Construction site documentation- General administrationSince the company was relatively small and roles were not exclusive, I also had some other roles in respective projects :- Quality manager for mechanical and electrical materials for Zagreb international airport new terminal, project for Investor Bouygues Bâtiment International- Project manager for MEP works as part of construction of Freshwater fish factory for Investor PP Orahovica I have been working in Smartenergy for three years which have passed incredibly quickly. Working there was very dynamic and it was an incredible learning experience with many interesting and diverse projects. One thing also stood up in Smartenergy and that’s the people. Dedication, expertise, cooperation, friendly attitude, positivity and the will to help at any time and any way (and this goes for both my colleagues and the management) will surely be the first thing to come to my mind whenever I think about the time spent here.

MR servis is a joint venture of M SAN Grupa and RECRO.At the time MR Servis was the largest IT/CE maintenance and repair services center in this part of Europe and the IT products support operations was it's most complex department. I was responsible for:- vendor relations, negotiations and SLA compliance- ASP operations management for 12 direct contracts (Acer, Asus, Epson, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Toshiba…) and several dozen producers contracted indirectly through distributor- KPIs and financial targets planning and execution for 4 teams- competencies and training plans for 26 technicians and engineers- encouragement and implementation of new services and projects- process design and optimization- material cost control- key customers relations- escalations managementDue to internal reorganization, I was also responsible for the spare parts sales dapartment (setting internal targets, approving rebate scales and margin mixes) and back office (purchasing, administration and call center).

At the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009 M SAN Grupa has undertaken a deep operational restructuring, adjusting its operations cost to inevitable recession. In short period of time, number of employees in M SAN servis’ business unit Zagreb was decreased by a third, causing closure of entire departments. In that circumstances I have accepted the position of the youngest business unit director in corporation.Key roles:- general and crisis management- business process reengineering focusing on core business only- business unit reorganization and implementation of profit centers- maintaining and increase of operations effectiveness and efficiency- merger preparation (merger with Recro service department)This position was a short term, but the most challenging, demanding, responsible and stressful till then and years after. It is also the one that I am very proud of.

M SAN Servis has rapidly grown up to 90 employees, but kept the outdated organizational structure. Activities like logistic, parts sales, administration and call center were still done by repair technicians in addition to their main responsibilities.In the late 2008 I have proposed and M SAN Board accepted reorganization plan that included extraction of all non-repair activities from repair service teams into new, Support department. I was assigned to lead the project and asked to accept the department management position, as the youngest department manager in M SAN.I have set up Administration, Logistics, Call center and Spare parts sales teams and successfully reengineered processes in entire company to adopt the new organization.The same setup is present in MR servis company even today, many years later.

Accepting a team leading position, as the youngest manager in the company, brought me challenges of responsibility for other's work for the first time.This position started as an everyday simple service team management (4 technicians, warranty contract for 3 vendors, flexible procedures, no organized spare parts sales or alternative spare parts sourcing, relatively comfortable SLA-s and reporting). But, till 2008 the team transitioned into the largest and the most complex department in M SAN service organization (10 notebook technicians, direct warranty ASP for 11 vendors, procedures and KPIs defined by SLA agreements).Due to internal organization, my team was also handling its own spare parts sourcing and sales, warehouse management, administration, escalations, import, RMA export, tech.calls, customer care, invoicing... Leading the most dynamic and complex team, along with demanding certification and education plan has given me insight and ideas for future organizational proposals.

My first „real job" was a service technician for HP and later Samsung printers. For the youngest employee in M SAN grupa, this was a great position to get familiar with technology in most direct way. Later on, after the 6 months compulsory military service, I’ve worked as a notebook service technician and tech. support. Also, this is where I’ve gotten my first project, to set up processes and procedures for Compaq authorized warranty service provider.
