I have had 15 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist at academic centers. I have board certifications in Pediatric Anesthesia, Adult Critical Care, and Neurocritical Care. I also have an MPH and an MHA. I was the section head of Pediatric Anesthesiology at the University of Iowa for 4 years, and Vice-Chair of Clinical Operations at the University of Minnesota, Department of Anesthesiology for 4 years). I am currently the Vice-Chair of Education in the same Department. Achievements: Administrative: Established the Nurse Sedation Program at the University of Iowa, Helped in transforming the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota to a complete academic program when the department had over half of the anesthesiologists as part of a private practice setting, Created a robust and accurate scheduling system using Open Tempo for the Department.Research: Recruited subjects for the international multicenter General Anesthesia Study to assess anesthesia neurotoxicity in infantsEducation: Established the combined pathway program for residents who were interested in completing an MHA program during residency
