CurrentJoseph Murray is a partner in the Firm specializing in intellectual property registration, licensing and litigation. He is an experienced litigator, having argued in numerous United States federal courts of appeal and district courts, and before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. His litigation experience ranges from patent infringement and other intellectual property infringement actions to commercial claims involving hedge funds, theft of trade secrets, haute couture fashion and jewelry, entertainment contracts and corporate fraud.In addition to his courtroom practice, Mr. Murray participates in dispute resolution through arbitration. Joseph has arbitrated in the United States under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association, the National Arbitration Foundation, and under ad hoc rules.Either in connection with settlement of disputes or as a matter of a client's independent business objectives, Joseph drafts, negotiates and monitors license agreements on behalf of the firm’s clients. These agreements are domestic and international in scope and include a large and diverse number of products and services. He also drafts and negotiates joint venture agreements and related commercial agreements.Joseph received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland. Following several years work in the field of urban real estate redevelopment, he received a Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Maryland where he also served as articles editor of the Maryland Law Review. Joseph is admitted to practice before the bars of the states of New York, New Jersey and Maryland. He also is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Second and Third Circuits as well as various district courts.When not at work, Joseph enjoys wilderness hiking, running, kayaking and alpine skiing with his family.
