Head of Banking and Finance and Aviation practice of Madrid office.Providing specialised advice to national and foreign regulated entities in financial and capital markets regulatory matters, including compliance standards and disciplinary procedures, AML and payment services related matters, having acquired significant experience advising banks, insurance entities and investment companies regarding disciplinary actions and financial litigation held before Spanish authorities including the Spanish Central Bank, the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV) and the General Directorate of Insurance and Pensions (DGS). Advising both lenders and borrowers on local and international financings including acquisition finance, corporate facilities, project finance, asset finance, syndicated facilities, banking and financial regulatory dispute resolution, corporate restructurings, insolvency and distressed debt transactions. Leading the Aviation practice in the Madrid Office providing advice regularly to national and foreign operators of the aircraft market, dealing with transactional, regulatory and commercial matters in the aviation and defence sector.

He has experience in corporate, M&A, project finance and has advised on a wide range of banking and finance transactions both domestic and trans-national. In addition to the traditional banking practice, José Luis has also experience in aircraft asset management and financing and in project finance (particularly on renewable energy) having provided advice to both developers and financiers. As per non transactional matters, José Luis has been actively involved in high profile banking dispute matters affecting derivatives and structured products as well as insolvency and pre-insolvency matters.
