Dear All,A steady job and salary will be a lifesaver for a Vision Blind Software Engineer like me and help to take care of my family and live with dignity. Many years back, I was also a high flying Software Developer and worked on many great projects for 12 plus years, after I graduated in 1996 in my favorite subject Mathematics and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications. However, God had other plans for me. My world turned upside down in 2008 while I was working in Malaysia, as my vision started to blur. I came back to India and was informed by the eye specialists that I was suffering from a rare disorder called Retinitis Pigmentosa, where my retina got progressively damaged and I lost my complete vision in 2014. It has taken me a while to get over this tough phase of my life and to get my footing back. My family and a few friends has been a pillar of support for me. Through an NGO for visual impaired, I learned how to use mobile and laptop using screen reader application. As soon as I completed the course, the TCS Maitri team for an on the job training stint for the visually impaired. Even though my profile was shortlisted by the NLP team of TCS, I didn’t get the placement as it was the Corona lock down time.I am currently getting-by by working from home in Trichur (Kerala), teaching Maths, Science and Computers to 11th & 12th students and other Visually Challenged friends. But I would love to get back to the Corporate world in Software Development or anything related or even Admin work. My resume is attached and I am willing to work from home or office and can relocate to Cochin, Chennai or Bangalore.Thank you for your precious time and consideration.
