• Oversee overall design and creative for CNN’s D2C streaming platform and build a brand new global team from the ground up to support it• Direct editorial content creative including show identities and branding, Live and Taped Studio graphics, on screen elements, scenic+set design, VOD and post production branding + animated motion graphics, infographics, and explainers• Oversee how our content appears in our product, including the creation of all of the platform’s keyart, hero images, and series and episodic level thumbnails, intentionally designed to drive audience consumption and engagement in collaboration with research and product• Drive consistency, communication, and collaboration b/w all the CNN and CNN+ design groups including Marketing, Product Design, Broadcast Design, and Editorial and Content Design

This includes news graphics + data visualizations, interactives and custom web experiences, photo journalism, motion graphics + video design, franchise identity and branding, and set and event design• Unified previously silo’ed digital editorial design and photo groups under one global umbrella, allowing for better collaboration, sharing of resources, streamlined communications, shared mission and purpose across timezones. • Overhauled visual branding, identity, style guides, tools, and templates for editorial, providing a cohesive look and feel and high visual fidelity bar across our platforms • All this to better allow the incredibly talented team to produce important, audience engaging visual storytelling, recognized by organizations such as Society of News Design, Emmys, EPPYs, Webbys, Tellys, Motion Awards, and Foreign Press

• Founded CNN Motion, a global, in-house motion graphic design department that creates high-end designs and cinematic animations across the organization for visual storytelling and identity branding• Oversee creative direction, innovation, visual and animated storytelling, and brand consistency across global video products and platforms across CNN• Defined and evolved the core CNN Digital Video branding used on all CNN video, including on screen design elements, typography, promo templates, and graphic toolkits to ensure fast and efficient graphic content creation for all producers• Build, lead, and manage staff and oversee project execution through the full life cycle of video and cross platform products. Other responsibilities include budgeting and working closely with partners and stakeholders across CNN and Turner• Hands on design and animation work for special projects, including the Eclipse VR live broadcast and the Empire State Building election projection mapping
