Joubert van Wyk has 28 years’ Investment Banking experience. The types of transactions completed during his career have incorporated mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, listings, privatisations, restructurings, strategic investments, valuations, considering due-diligence reports and other aspects of corporate finance advisory. He has also advised on the analysis, innovative structuring and funding of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transactions for investment purposes at executive level in South Africa. Furthermore, he has managed the private placing of shares of African companies to international institutional investors, prepared companies for listing, written prospectuses, structured and priced public and private offers to achieve the objectives of the client’s divestiture programmes or plans, and generally managed the entire transaction cycle as advisor to Governments and Boards. Client companies serviced are situated in sectors such as banking and also in a broad range of other sectors including agribusiness, aviation, general industrial/manufacturing, applied electronics, insurance, mining, packaging, power, education, property, health and telecoms. Bank transactions included advising and negotiating the acquisitions of Commercial Bank in Malawi, Uganda Commercial Bank, and Lesotho Bank (99) for Stanbic Africa.
