I am directing the operations of University Innovation Centre at University of Oulu. University Innovation Centre helps research teams to commercialize their research-based business ideas and help companies to find research projects and services from the university.At BusinessOulu, I helped local service, innovation and laboratory platforms to commercialize their offering. I am also a co-founder of Solani Therapeutics Ltd, an innovative drug development company for animal health and well-being.Previously I was working for Technopolis Plc as Business Development Manager. My key tasks included supporting the local business and innovation ecosystem, consulting local start-up and growth companies, and developing Technopolis' premises and service business as a member of sales team.I was the founder, entrepreneur and CEO of Novamass Ltd, an international life science expert service company and outsourcing partner for pharmaceutical industry. I have 10 years experience on founding a start-up and growing it, raising funds and investing in resources. I achieved over 5 M€ in revenues and 2 M€ in fundraising, 110 Pharma and Biotech customers in 16 countries.I was born in 1968 in Kauhajoki and moved to study in Oulu after college. My MSc was in Structural Elucidation Chemistry (1996). I finished my PhD in 2015 in Medicine (Pharmacology and Toxicology). I have contributed to 25 peer reviewed scientific articles concerning analytical methods in drug discovery and development. During my 10 years as CEO I constantly educated myself and learned new skills in business management and leadership, financing, marketing and sales.
