CurrentI am a founder of an amazing company called JOURNEY-UP that provides the new way to support the cancer journey.At Journey-Up our mission is to help people with cancer and other chronic illnesses discover new methods that benefit their health by providing information and a new way for friends, family members, coworkers and doctors to show their support through a Gift for the Journey.Started by an oncology nurse and a breast cancer survivor, we are here to listen, learn, share, discuss - and even debate - the promise of the cure with the assurance that none of us will rest until that promise is delivered to anyone faced with cancer. Accordingly, we donate a significant portion of our after tax profits and royalties for educational and charitable purposes. Through our website and partner programs, we sell Signature Gift Envelopes that contain Journey-Up® Prepaid MasterCard® cards, a novel and personalized greeting card holder, and a Journey-Up Guide. It’s important to understand that we are NOT about “personal financial gain”—and to back this up we donate a significant portion of profits and royalties after taxes for educational and charitable purposes by giving 5% of each Signature Gift Envelope purchase to one of our non-profit partners. We also allocate a percentage of all Journey-Up Store purchases for our charity partners that are part of our program because they are making a difference in the cancer journey by either supporting cancer research and education or assisting individuals and their families that have a cancer diagnosis.As the chief blogger for Journey-Up, I want to help people that have been diagnosed recently... or who have started cancer treatment… or maybe finished with treatment and are getting on with life. But that’s not all our blog discussions do, they also help people who know someone such as a friend, family member or colleague that is dealing with cancer.
