I am an oncology nurse who has helped hundreds of clients deal with the side effects of chemo and radiation and the proud mother of two grown sons. I lost my mother to cancer several years ago and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. As her primary caregiver for 7 years, it became a very personal experience for me. As part of the Journey-Up team, I whole-heartedly subscribe to our mantra that “we are here to listen… and learn… and share… and discuss… and even debate… the promise of the cure with the assurance that none of us will rest until that promise is delivered to anyone faced with cancer.” I am an advocate for body-mind therapy and complementary health care methods that augment cancer treatments. You’ll learn a lot more about my experience with this as you read our blogs.Melissa Steere, RN, OCN is a native of Cos Cob, Connecticut and currently resides in Litchfield County, Connecticut.
