CurrentPoint Foundation is the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit. Having invested over $47M in its scholarship recipients, the Foundation provides financial support, mentoring and leadership training through its year-round programming. Point Scholars study in their chosen fields, at their selected schools, throughout the United States and represent our movement’s future leaders across industries. Point alumni and scholars convene regionally for specific discipline-based training conferences our semi-annual National Leadership Conference. Our research on challenges facing LGBTQ students seeking a higher education led to the implementation Point’s Community College Scholarship Program. In 2020 we launched a national BIPOC scholarship program, which is open to LGBTQ community college, undergraduate and graduate students. We are proud that Point Foundation has received the highest rating from nonprofit watchdog groups GuideStar, Charity Navigator and Great Nonprofits and that Point has been recognized for its life-changing work by national and regional organizations including the National Scholarship Providers Association and the Human Rights Campaign. We continually seek to build the resources and endowment of Point Foundation and its visibility and have received vital coverage from a breadth of mainstream and niche media outlets including The Advocate, Angeleno, Barron's, Bloomberg Businessweek, CNN, The Economist, Extra, Huffington Post, Inside Higher Education, Logo – NewNowNext, The New York Times, The Oprah Winfrey Show, OUT Magazine, People en Espanol, Sirius Satellite Radio, TIME, USA Today, Vox, as well as numerous local and regional publications.
