Team leader for ChEMBL Services team - developing translational databases for drug discovery. These include:*) ChEMBL - an Open Data SAR/medicinal chemistry database (www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl)*) SureChEMBL - an Open chemistry patent system*) UniChem - a large scale chemical structure database integration tool*) ChEMBL-malaria and ChEMBL-NTD - microsites for Public malaria and other Neglected Tropical Disease data.*) Integration environments (SARfari) for gene-family based drug discovery (www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl/sarfari/kinasesarfari and www.ebi.ac.uk/chembl/sarfari/gpcrsarfari). Funding for these is from two Strategic Awards from the Wellcome Trust. Additional research grants include involvement in the IMI funded eTox, OpenPHACTS, the FP7 DiXa, HeCaTos and BioMedBridges and GeMOA consortia, and also the FP7 ESFRI EU-OPENSCREEN. Additionally I am funded by the MRC on an HPC clinical informatics project. Additionally I am a partner in the BBSRC/MRC/EPSRC funded SMSdrug.net networking project.I am Group Leader for the Computation Chemical Biology Research Group - we develop novel approaches to improve the discovery of future pharmaceuticals.Member of Reactome Scientific Advisory Board (www.reactome.org).Member of Senior Management Committee of the EMBL-EB|.
