John's career started with the then Price Waterhouse, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. From there he joined the group taxation department of British Leyland as a corporate tax specialist. He then became a cofounder member of a specialist tax boutique called Chiltern plc where he worked for close on 28 years . Following the sale of Chiltern plc to BDO LLP in October 2007 , John became a tax partner in the London office of that firm followed by a part time tax role in another city accounting firm until his retirement in March 2018 . Since that time John has held a series of NED and other consultancy roles providing support and guidance drawing upon his past extensive experience . John is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is a former member of business tax committee of the Institute's Tax Faculty and past president of Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants.
