Hello, my name is Joy Brown. I am a senior undergraduate student, studying a liberal arts BA in English Professional Writing with a minor in Theatre at Butler University. During my final year, I will be spending my fall semester studying British Literature at University College London in London, England. I will also be conducting my honors thesis on victim-centered care and legal advocacy for human trafficking victims. Throughout my time at Butler, I have represented the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a senator for SGA, published written works in Butler Manuscripts Literary Magazine, performed in student productions, been initiated into multiple honors societies, and joined the Alpha Chi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. My diverse areas of study combine my interests in literature, law, and advocacy with my love of writing, reading, and the arts. My time at Butler has allowed me to not only flourish as a student, but also as a highly motivated and dedicated individual. I am fiercely creative, and enjoy the challenges of problem-solving and critical thinking. Through various internships, I have enhanced skills in public speaking, legal documentation, and project management. I love forming connections and excel both independently and within group settings. Upon graduation, I hope to pursue my Juris Doctorate degree to further my educational journey in law and advocacy. I am particularly interested in the areas of entertainment law, copyright law, human trafficking law, and intellectual property. I also love talking to new people so if you would like to get in touch, please email me at jmbrown1@butler.edu.
