You are on my wall... 😊😉Joy is a development professional with almost eight years of experience working with under-served youth in Africa; she has a strong passion for empowering and uplifting disadvantaged youth. She has successfully executed complex and multi-year initiatives and programmes involving education, life skills training, leadership development, youth governance, policy and advocacy, peace-building, sexual and reproductive health, and supporting holistic youth development, addressing their unique challenges and fostering their full potential. Her expertise in positive youth development and human-centred design is demonstrated in her ability to create safe and inclusive settings for young people to thrive, develop their skills, and access previously unattainable possibilities.In her role at LEAP Africa, she manages the education portfolio, where she provides strategic leadership to her team in designing and mobilizing resources for implementing interventions that equip educators to model transformative leadership, build bridges to opportunities for students in underserved communities in Nigeria and across Africa; equip and resource students in tertiary institutions to lead and advocate for sustainable development.She is a facilitator, trainer and mentor, providing young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams. With a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Master of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies, and certificates in strategic leadership and management, youth development, project management, and grant writing, she serves on the board of a budding non-profit organisation, she is an alumnus of Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), and a member of World Beyond War Alumni Network. She is passionate, empathetic, and driven in her mission to create a more equitable and inclusive society for young people.
