Joy first entered into the country’s economic activity, as a Trainee Consultant and General Office Assistant with Eyethu Rural Consultants (“Eyethu”) in the Eastern Cape Province. After leaving Eyethu, she moved to Cape Town in order to further her education. Whilst there she was employed at African Access Computers as a General Assistant. Joy eventually relocated back to the Eastern Cape and joined Billabong South Africa in Jeffreys Bay as a Sales Assistant. Her career quickly advanced and she was promoted to HR Admin and Equity Manager. In June 2013, Joy joined Economic Development Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“EDS”). Following intense training and mentorship Joy was appointed to manage the Economic Development compliance reporting at the Jeffery’s Bay wind farm. Following the completion of the construction of the wind farm, EDS relocated Joy to their Head Office in Johannesburg, Gauteng.Her initial position as Project Administrator at the Head Office saw Joy gaining massive exposure and experience within all business aspects of the Renewable Energy, BBBEE and Mining sectors.Her willingness to learn and her high levels of professionalism has seen Joy develop within her career. She has recently been promoted to Senior Project Consultant, where her duties include the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of Economic Development commitments for various projects, project lead on Enterprise Development reporting during construction, consolidating and preparing of Enterprise Development reports for submission to the Department of Energy, consolidating and preparing of implementation reports for the Client and the Department of Energy, preparing desktop research for Community Needs Assessment as well as the development of Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development Plans. Joy has a small team reporting into her and works closely with the Community Specialist team members.Joy is a true asset to EDS.
