In my role as a physical planner intern at Ministry of Lands, I have been actively involved in a range of tasks aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to the effective planning and development of urban projects ( Development Control).One of my key responsibilities has been circulating architectural drawings for the Tatu City project to relevant authorities, facilitating the review process and gathering critical feedback. I have conducted site inspections to assess proposed changes, such as converting single-dwelling units to multi-dwelling configurations, and have overseen land subdivision activities in various parts of Nairobi County.I also participated in a workshop in Naivasha focused on the change of use for the Olkaria Geothermal Plant, which involved detailed discussions on project impacts and regulatory adjustments. In the realm of physical and land use planning, I have contributed to the preparation of the Kibera Soweto East local physical development plan, engaging with stakeholders to address issues related to slum upgrading. My role included attending and participating in workshops for the Kiambiu Local Physical and Land Use Development Plan, presenting proposals, and integrating community feedback.Furthermore, I was involved in reviewing and updating the planning handbook, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders for their input. My responsibilities extended to administrative tasks such as scanning Part Development Plans and performing various activities including research, and the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and reports.• Proficient in utilizing GPS essential tool for data collection during fieldwork.

As an urban planner and a development control officer, my role involved a dynamic blend of stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and detailed project oversight. I consulted extensively with councils, landowners, contractors, and national authorities to ensure that all aspects of development projects align with established guidelines and stakeholder expectations.
