Office of Postsecondary Readiness, NYC Department of EducationMajor projects:• Co-founder of Mastery Collaborative, a program designed to support, document, and advance a diverse and growing ecosystem of successful Mastery-based teaching and learning across NYC public middle and high schools.• Curriculum Specialist for NYC Digital Ready, a program working with 10 selected high schools to transform into technology-powered student-centered learning environments through strategic use of four levers of change: pedagogy, curriculum, mastery-based assessment, and expanded learning opportunities. • Curriculum Coach for NYC Blended Competencies Project, a curriculum development initiative that created blended, badged, Common Core-aligned, project-based core and elective courses for high schools that serve at-risk students--in collaboration with successful content-area teachers in NYC schools. Challenge-based online courses in ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health were created and are in current use, with over 2700 students served.• Developer of Connected Foundations DIG/IT, a blended learning course for high school students featuring digital literacy/citizenry, college and career explorations, and financial literacy in a game-like badged web environment. Development of key content, Common Core alignments, teacher supports, collaboration on content/ features and other aspects of the course.

Consulting on design and implementation of Common Core Standards-aligned K-12 education resources. ELA, Literacy in content areas (Social Studies, Science, Math); assessments that integrate reading, writing, speaking/listening and language standards; gradual-release scaffolding, text-dependent questions; support for text complexity; evidence-based writing; independent mastery of standards.
