Joyce Arends is a photographer and photo editor who believes in inspiring awe in the natural world.As an underwater photographer Joyce sees her role to be an ambassador for the ocean and it’s many inhabitants. In 2017 she spent 3 months in Thailand studying marine life and completing her PADI Divemaster.Recently, she has interned with OneOcean Diving based in Haleiwa, Hawaii, working with the public to show the importance of sharks in our ecosystem and to change the misunderstood perception of sharks. Her aim is to further her art through sustainable and conscious efforts to document the wild and educate others.She currently splits her time between Canada and Hawaii. She has earned a diploma in professional photography with honours and has received numerous scholarships and awards for her photography.
