I am a retired teacher/school administrator. My childhood dream was to one day have a farm with horses. While living and working in Europe I encountered a rare and beautiful horse like none I had ever seen. That interest began a study that has lasted fifteen years and continues. In 1998 I began communication with Dennis and Cindy Thompson of Ocala, Florida. The Thompsons also found this horse and their work lead to the uncovering of this new breed. They chose a name, Gypsy Vanner Horse, and the world's first registry for these incredible horses was formed - the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society. I was appointed to the Board of Directors for the GVHS in 2008 and re-elected to the Board in 2011. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Equine Council. In 2011 I published my first book, "Dreams..Promises..A Vanner Horse Journey". It is my goal to first educate those interested in wanting to know about the Gypsy Vanner Horse and secondly to breed Vanner Horses from original lines.
