    Since the beginning of this company in 2009, my duties have included all accounting, billing Medicare/Medicaid, payroll, HR, benefits coordination, A/P & A/R as well as license applications. Special projects include: preparation of an 855-A application for Medicare hospice license, ADR's or any responses to Medicare/Medicaid related issues. All experiences, whether governmental accounting or public accounting practice, have been utilized in this position. Since 2009, my husband & I have tried to create an ideal workplace for experienced staff to give quality care to patients & their families at a time in their lives when they need the best care.     Management of Federal/private grants and contractual agreements for physicians and academic staff of the Ophthalmology department. This included assisting in the writing of the application, editing, creating budgets and coordination for the submission to such institutes as NIH and NSF. A rigorous submission process was done at both Emory's Dean's level to their Grants Approval dept, as well as meeting Federal/State criteria. In addition, financial management included approving spending per grantee per Federal guidelines, as well as the submission of quarterly or annual financial reports to the appropriate authority. There were approximately 250 staff in this department with 50-60 physicians/PhD's. At the time when I left, there were over 300 grants being maintained. Before I came, there were 3-5 staff, both analysts & clerical. They had all been fired 6 months prior to my hire. I organized and maintained all in one year and 3 months by myself. I left to start our own company.
