Bob and I now sponsor destitute twin girls (6 yrs. old) in Jinja, Uganda. I have also been sewing and collecting clothing for the many children in the compound surrounding Walukuba Church (Elim church) in Jinja. Hopefully, I may be chosen to participate in the team going back to Jinja in January, 2018, to participate in providing 750 children with a VBS program as well as assisting the professionals on the team with medical and dental care for the residents of the compound. The children of Jinja are quite destitute, so I hope to be able to minister to them and to meet our twin girls that we sponsor (so they can attend school and have at least that one meal -school lunch- per day). More recently, I have also had the great privilege of acquiring refurbished laptops for a minimal fee from 4:10 Tech Services Ministries, that will also be taken to Uganda for pastors who are under Pastor/Bishop Frederick Makka of Jinja. I work on call for both Newark Central Schools and BOCES classes via Newark Schools. My other job is tutoring for BOCES as a bilingual who can teach English to Spanish Speakers and Spanish to English Speakers! I LOVE MY WORK, even after nearly 27 years with Newark Schools as translator! Sometimes, I even end up helping to save lives, not just talk about problems at school or an awared a child has won. I do translations for Hispanic clients and teach using bilingual videos (on what to expect with pregnancy and newborns, plus how to care for your baby), occassionally, I have been asked to write an article for the monthly newsletter, as well as I perform general office work as needed. Today, I will help man the table at the Wayne County Fair!
