For several years I was Director of American Indian Projects; taught multiple American Indian content courses, other policy courses focusing on Aging and Women's issues. Research, Dynamics of Discrimination and Global Issues. I also taught American Indian content in UMD's School of Medicine and the School of Public Health, Department of Health Education, at the UM-Twin Cities Campus. I served as the mentor for students doing internships in Kenya with the Minnesota Studies in International Development program.

Taught and conducted research on health services, particularly for American Indian populations. I took a year's leave during this time to teach at the University of Minnesota Duluth in the School of Social Development.
