As part of the Rapid Start Team of the Green Bank for Rural America, I lead the development of our Technical Assistance resources to support green energy investments across rural and historically excluded communities. My role supports Appalachian Community Capital’s $500 million Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund award, which catalyzes sustainable growth by funding projects that reduce emissions and foster economic resilience in areas historically reliant on fossil fuels.

I have been an active board member with Aircuity since late 2006. I have lead multiple initiatives supporting the company including; fund raising, senior executive recruitment, and business development. Aircuity is an energy efficiency technology company providing building owners with sustained energy savings through its intelligent building ventilation control solutions. Aircuity’s system continuously monitors a facility’s indoor environment and adjusts the ventilation based on conditions within the space, increasing ventilation if there are more occupants or if airborne contaminants are present and decreasing ventilation when there are fewer occupants or the air is clean.

I have been an active board member with Performance Systems Development (PSD) since investing in 2010. PSD is a technology enabled energy efficiency program implementer and training provider that works with utilities, energy service professionals, and building portfolio owners. They are nationally recognized for their building science and energy efficiency expertise.

Spring Lane Capital is an investment firm that provides project-based growth for companies that develop smaller-scale sustainable infrastructure projects. Spring Lane partners with entrepreneurs in the energy, water, food and waste industries to fund deployment of their solutions

Solar development company.

Joined Nextility as the first CFO of this high growth solar energy company. Also became COO of the Company and built and managed the solar development and asset management teams. Built the financial and management team, and created process and tools to manage a highly complex financial structure and over 250 solar rooftop projects in multiple states and Puerto Rico.

I was an active Encelium board member from the early founding period until the sale of the company in 2007. I lead multiple initiatives as a resource for the company including; creating the first US office, fund raising, senior executive recruitment, and business development. I supported the growth of the business from two pilot installations to over 100. Encelium is a manufacturer of advanced lighting control and energy management systems. The company pioneered the use of networking technologies to control lighting in commercial and institutional buildings. Encelium’s systems allow each lighting fixture to be controlled (switched and dimmed) individually, and grouped through addressable controls instead of hard-wired lighting circuits. The Encelium system reduces lighting related energy costs by 50% to 75% while at the same time improving lighting quality, occupant productivity and workplace ergonomics. Encelium customers include commercial office, health care, higher education and government.

Established and built the US office of Impax Capital, a London based investment banking firm focused on environmental markets such as renewable energy, waste and water. Led financial advisory work for European and Canadian clients doing business in the US. Also a board member of Impax Capital Corp, the London parent company.

I led the acquisition of this biomass combustion technology company in 1994 and was a major shareholder, board member and full time Director of Business Development. As part of the senior management team I managed sales and marketing, strategic planning, and international joint ventures. I led business development in the US and Europe and worked with customers in energy and resource intensive industries including, power generation, paper and forest products, waste water treatment, and agriculture. I also created a development division of EPI to pursue building, owning and operating biomass and industrial waste fired projects.

Senior founding executive with Reading Energy, an early renewable energy company specializing in biomass and waste to energy power plants. I lead all financial activities of the company as part of the three person founding management team. We grew the company from $0 to over $40 in annual revenues. I led project and corporate financial transactions of over $500 million.

I was a part of the team that started the fee-based financial planning division for Investors Resource Group. The company provided financial planning for high net-worth individuals and families.
