I am an inventor, innovator and educator with a passion to empower people through good design. Professionally, I have worked across interdisciplinary boundaries integrating marketing, engineering and consumer needs into creative products. I have utilized empathic research strategies in my product designs that have accounted for more than $4 billion in retail sales and been awarded 59 patents worldwide. As assistant professor of industrial design at Auburn University, I teach design thinking, studio, and technology courses. As Chief Creative Officer for the ThomasSchumerGroup I am helping to develop provide entrepreneurship education and innovative product solutions for a diverse group of small businesses.
