Direct supervision of 30 staff members with responsibility for mentoring, providing timely performance feedback, annual reviews, and corrective action as needed.Improved practice by providing leadership, encouragement and resources to staff as the liaison from leadership to the Unit Practice Team.Rounded on staff and patients, collaborating with patient relations and risk management, enhancing customer satisfaction.Communicated daily with physicians, promoting positive working relationships. Chaired pediatric hospitalist/nursing leadership forums six times a year.Assessing unit needs, and working with the leadership team, developed and prioritized long range goals. Successful project which I led include (1)changing the model of care delivered, (2)working with a team of physicians, nurses, and lactation consultants to improve breast feeding outcomes of late preterm infants, (3) planning and coordinating the opening of a recovery area for cesarean births which standardized recover care within the hospital and allows infants to remain with their mothers during the recovery period.Active in improving quality of care through membership in perinatal safety committee, focusing on MHA Keystone objectives. Involving staff through education and support to attain those measures.Responsible for meeting the state expectations of the vaccination program on the birth center, maintaining an audit ready status.
