Over the past 40 years of my working career in manufacturing I have moved from basic prep working to program management. I find that keeping working on schedule is the most important thing in this business. But, it requires so many things to come together effectively to make that happen. That is why I got my degree in logistics vs a business degree or quality degree. I have worked subcontracting and OEM, but still find there is a customer waiting for a product; a GOOD product ON TIME. In logistics you can make toilets or rockets, but it still takes parts and labor to come together, this is what I've been trying to do for all these years. Currently, I work customer service, bringing in new orders, reviewing contracts, working with engineering, quote dept, purchasing, accounting and manufacturing. I touch ground with everyone until I know I have a happy customer in California, Korea, or Australia. This is what I do.
