The UCLA Asia Pacific Center promotes greater knowledge and understanding of Asia and the Pacific region on campus and in the community through innovative research, teaching, public programs, and local and international collaborations. The center is currently home to the UCLA Taiwan Studies Program and the UCLA Program on Central Asia (PoCA), and seeks to establish a Hong Kong studies program.- Provide tech support and maintain website displayed including editing upcoming event time, speaker, location, and description.- Staff in-person conference/symposium as well as online lectures and greet visiting scholars and important speakers from other universities around the world.- Prepare for upcoming events by creating Mailchimp email campaigns, flyers, and cover slides to promote and encourage participation.

Worked part-time both on-site and remotely. Assisted attorney David Chou and his paralegals in regards to correspondences to clients. Answered subpoena duces tecum. Reviewed and analyzed subpoenaed records, medical-legal reports, deposition, and surveillance reports and composed letters to clients providing recommendations for future handling. Prepared motion to compel and motion to quash as well as filing subpoenaed records for the corresponding cases.

Interned at CILO in Taipei, Taiwan from 7/24/23 through 8/18/23. Handled administrative tasks including mail management, document processing, and client correspondence. Gained valuable exposure to court proceedings through attending hearings and mediation sessions at various courts, including the Taiwan High Court and District Court in Taipei, New Taipei, Shilin, and Taoyuan. Studied numerous civil and criminal cases in different stages of litigation, providing insights into Civil Code, Criminal Code, Family Act, and other relevant legal regulations. Also conducted extensive research, particularly in international cases with a focus on California law, contributing to the firm's legal efforts.
