I explored specific protein function complementation in E. coli using homologs from organisms across the phylogenetic tree. This involves DNA construct design, cloning and assembly of constructs, bacterial transformations, strain verification, and library preparation.

Chanfreau Lab, UCLA

I validated RNA-seq data concerning alternative splicing as a regulatory mechanism in S. cerevisiae. I did this through biochemical and cellular biology techniques such as transformations, genomic DNA extractions, PCR, RT-PCR, and agarose and polyacrylamide gels. I am lab safety trained to handle radioactive and toxic materials. My work in the Chanfreau.

Studied novel processing methods of fluorescent nanocrystals using supercritical solvents, with applications in biosensing and bioimaging under Dr. Truc Ngo's supervision. Main tasks included gathering visible spectroscopy data, data input, and data processing in Microsoft Excel.
